Hello!

Wanted to share a recent retouching I did. The original photographer is Jordan Andrews, and I helped him out with a background replacement. It was pretty fun, I was humming the Pirates Of The Caribbean theme the whole time...

Here is a video of my editing/retouching/compositing skills, with before and afters! Enjoy! And maybe eventually I'll find an export that doesn't degrade the quality so much and replace it...

I have officially earned my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta! The portfolio show was a lot of fun, and I met a lot of great people. I also received an award for "Outstanding Contributions to the Program." Now I'm ready to work!

I'm graduating! I'm so excited! It has been a lot of work, but I couldn't be happier. I seriously think this is the strongest graduating class I have seen since I have been at school (and not because I'm one of them!) I'm honored to graduate with these 3 gentlemen and wish them the best. You should come drop by the show and see our work!

December 15th at The Art Institute of Atlanta from 1:00-4:00 for friends and family, and 4:00-8:00 for professionals!

Hello!

I wanted to share a fun project I recently worked on. I love being a part of every single aspect in my work, the more I am involved in every way, the happier I am. I love collaborating, but I also love every inch of a piece to be from my own making. I made my first garment! A wonderfully happy, bright, colorful spring idea hit me. All I needed, was some bright colored flowers, butterflies, and a one piece bathing suit. No problem right? Except... it's December. I went everywhere, even my usual thrift stores let me down. No bathing suit. So I improvised with a pair of panties and a tank top! I couldn't find enough bright spring flowers, so I got whatever color I COULD get, finally managed to find some pretty butterflies with wire to wrap around her finger, and then about a BILLION safety pins. I wish I took a picture of the inside of the shirt, it was like frankenstien from all the pins. But anyway, this is what Jamie and I started with!

Yikes! Talk about crazy colors... But don't fret, here is our beautiful outcome!

I changed all the colors, added the hair from a different shot, added an extra butterfly, then took some close up shots of the flowers and composed a background, and voila! Is that how you spell voila?

Hi! I was told I needed to update my blog, so here it goes. First of all, so much is new. I'm graduating soon, I've met so many fantastic people, and today is 11/11/11! So I hope today is wonderfully special for everyone. This is going to be a big post, ready?

First of all, if there are any Arnold Newman fans, I found a great lecture about him. He is definitely one of my favorites and I was glad to learn that even he was nervous and anxious before every shoot.

Second, Scott Spencer Miller is the coolest make-up artist in the world, and I am so glad we get to work together! Here is a photo with him, and our wonderful model Martha on a recent shoot.

Here are more behind the scene photos from my process.

Some toy horses I spray painted white.

And the "final" image! I still need to work on the proportions and a few things... never finished! But I love doing illustration work... it's always my favorite to discuss.

Thanks for reading! :D
